Today is the 5th day of the India vs West Indies second test being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, the Indian cricket team is on the threshold of winning its first Test series. In this match, India won the toss and chose to bat first. India declared its first innings at 518/5. Yashasvi Jaiswal (175) and Gill (129) played century innings. Kuldeep Yadav took 5 wickets for India in the first innings. West Indies’ first innings was all out at 248, after which India gave follow-on to the visiting team. In reply, West Indies set a target of 121 runs for India to win.
By the end of the fourth day’s play, India had scored 63 runs after losing 1 wicket. India’s only wicket fell in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal, he was out after scoring 8 runs. After this, KL Rahul (25) and Sai Sudarshan (30) took the innings forward and did not let the second wicket fall till the end of the day’s play. Now India has to score 58 more runs on the 5th day to win.

After winning the toss, Shubman Gill chose to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his century (175) on the first day. Sai Sudarshan scored 87 runs and before that KL Rahul scored 38 runs. On the second day, Shubman Gill completed his century, Jaiswal was run out on 175. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 43 runs and Dhruv Jurel scored 44 runs. India declared the first innings at 518/5.
West Indies’ first innings was all out at 248, Alick Athanaz (41) scored the most runs in the first innings for the visiting team. For India, Kuldeep Yadav took maximum 5 wickets, Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets. Siraj and Bumrah got 1-1 wicket. West Indies could not save the follow-on, Gill asked the visiting team to bat again.
It seemed that the result would be known on the third day of the Test, but it reached till the fifth day as John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103) scored centuries in the second innings of West Indies. After this, Roston Chase scored 40 and Justin Greaves scored a half-century (50). West Indies scored 390 runs in the second innings and set a target of 121 runs for India to win.
