India vs West Indies second test is being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Today is Sunday, the third day of the test. On the second day, India declared its first innings at 518 runs. By the end of the day’s play, West Indies had scored 140 runs after losing 4 wickets. On the second day, Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket.
Yashasvi and Gill scored centuries in India’s first innings.
After winning the toss, Shubman Gill had decided to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul made a partnership of 58 runs for the first wicket, Rahul was out after scoring 38 runs. After this, Yashasvi along with Sai Sudarshan made a partnership of 193 runs for the second wicket. Yashasvi scored a century on the first day, Sudarshan was out after scoring 87 runs. On the second day, Yashasvi Jaiswal missed his double century, he was run out due to lack of coordination with Gill. He scored 175 runs.
Shubman Gill scored his 5th test century as captain, he remained unbeaten on 129 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 43 runs and Dhruv Jurel scored 44 runs. With Jurel’s wicket, Team India declared its first innings at 518 runs.
West Indies could not escape the havoc of Ravindra Jadeja
West Indies’ first innings started on the second day, Ravindra Jadeja gave the first success to India. He got John Campbell (10) caught out in the eighth over. Sudarshan had taken an amazing catch. After this, there was a partnership of 66 runs for the second wicket between Tejnarine Chanderpaul (34) and Alick Athanaz (41), which was also broken by Jadeja. After dismissing Tejnarayan, Jadeja sent captain Roston Chase to the pavilion on zero.
