Pakistan defense budget: India has broken the back of Pakistan’s security forces under Operation Sindoor, after which the Shahbaz government is going to increase its defense budget. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in Shahbaz government said that announced to increase Pakistan’s defense budget and said that our neighbor is very dangerous.
The Pak Minister said that when it comes to the previous experiences, incidents like Pulwama attack and Balakot Aircrafts have been proof of military tension between the two countries. Iqbal further said that it has been proved that we have a dangerous neighbor who attacked us at night. Because of this, he has decided to increase the country’s defense budget.
PAK defense budget increases
The plan to increase defense spending in the budget is not only from military point of view, but also for political and social stability. Iqbal said that it is our national duty to provide whatever we want to increase their capacity to the armed forces.
Budget proposal and IMF status
It was earlier announced that the budget would be presented on 2 June, but now it will be brought on 10 June. There was speculation about this change that perhaps this has been done under the pressure of IMF. However, Minister Iqbal clarified that due to the delay of the budget, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s foreign trips and Eid-ul-Azha are holidays.
Development budget of only 1 trillion rupee
Iqbal said that the government has a development budget of only one trillion rupee, while the required is Rs 3 trillion rupees. This will directly affect infrastructure and social development. Due to this deficiency, low priority projects will be postponed and only high priority schemes will be completed.
