The 2025 Asia Cup schedule has been announced. There will be a match between India and Pakistan twice in the tournament. On the other hand, if both teams reach the finals, then there will be a match between Indo-Pak 3 times. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi announced the Asia Cup schedule on Saturday. The 2025 Asia Cup will start from 9 September. At the same time, the final match of the tournament will be played on 28 September.
Mohsin Naqvi said in a formal announcement, “I am happy to confirm the dates of ACC Men Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. This prestigious tournament will be held from 9 to 28 September. We hope to watch great cricket in it. Its detailed program will be released soon.”
India-Pakistan match on 14 September and then …
India and Pakistan will be played for the first time in the 2025 Asia Cup on 14 September. This will be a league stage. Then on September 21, both teams will clash in Super-6. According to the agreement with ACC broadcasters, India and Pakistan will be placed in the same group and they will get another chance to confront each other even in the super six phase. If both teams reach the finals, then the third match in the tournament will also be likely.
The venue of the Asia Cup was decided at the ACC meeting on 24 July. All 25 member countries participated in this meeting. The host of the tournament is BCCI, but is being held in the UAE, as India and Pakistan have recited mutually agreed to competing only on neutral places (neutral venue) by 2027 due to the current tension between the two countries.
This session of the Asia Cup will be held in T20 format in view of the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Asia’s format is usually according to the next global tournament of the ICC.
