India China Relations Minister Sergey Lavrov Pushes Russia India China Grouping Tensions DCRASINS | Close friend left Pakistan? India and China’s friendship is being made by the world’s largest country, said

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov has said a lot on the relationship between India and China on Monday (June 9, 2025). They feel that the tension between the two countries has reduced considerably, so there is a good opportunity to make triangular cooperation between RIC i.e. Russia-India-China. Sergei Lavarov said that the stalled work of RIC triangular cooperation can start again.

After the 2020 Galvan Valley attack, there was a lot of tension in India and China relations, which was beginning to decrease early this year, but due to the stance that China has taken in the fight between India and Pakistan, the distance has increased once again. Last month, during the 3-4-day battle between Pakistan and India, even though China has not come forward and supported Pakistan, as soon as there was a ceasefire between the two countries, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi gave a statement in support of Pakistan.

He said that regional integrity, sovereignty and national freedom will always stand with Pakistan. Apart from this, China is the largest supplier of weapons to Pakistan, which was used against India during the fight. However, these weapons could not do anything in front of India’s strength. Now the Russian Foreign Minister feels that the tension between India and China is decreasing.

Addressing the ‘Future-2050 forum’ in Moscow, Sergei Lavarov said that restoration of joint work in RIC format could be the first step towards eurasian processes, including the construction of multi-polar architectural architecture.

According to Russian news agency Tas, Lavarov said, ‘I really hope that we will be able to resume the work of Russia-India-China triangle. For the last few years, there has not been a meeting at the level of our foreign ministers, but we are discussing this issue with our Chinese colleagues and Indian chief of the Foreign Department.

He said, ‘I really hope that now that the tension has come down, in my opinion, the border between India and China has reduced to a great extent and the situation is stabilizing, so we will be able to resume the work of this Russia-India-China triangle.’

Last week, a Pakistani delegation met Lavrov in Moscow and handed over a letter from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Quoting the Russian Foreign Ministry, the news agency said that Lavrov said that there is a need for direct talks between Pakistan and India to create mutual confidence between the two countries.
