In the year 2013-14, where India’s defense exports used to be Rs 686 crore, now it has increased to 23,622 crores. This export of India in the defense sector reveals its increasing dominance.

During the financial year 2024-25, the defense export of the private sector stood at Rs 15,233 crore, while the Defense PSU has exported a record of Rs 8,389 crore. There has been a huge increase of about 42.85 percent in exports only in Defense Publis Sector Undertagings, which shows the increasing demand for Indian weapons in the world.
Increased dominance in defense sector
Under the self -sufficient Bharat Abhiyan, the government is continuously emphasizing on the production of indigenous weapons in defense defense. India aims to increase the defense exports up to Rs 50 thousand crore by 2029. The weapons that India exports are- Akash, BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Pinaka Rock. Along with this, 9 Vajra, BOT, Dornier 228 fighter aircraft and light fighter aircraft Tejas have also been well liked by the world.
