India Ends Transject Facility from Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus appealed China for Economy Extection Mentioned India Northeast States

‘The seven northeastern states of India are landloched (surrounded by land), only we are the way to reach the sea, so China should increase trade through the sea’, these words of Mohammad Yunus have overshadowed Bangladesh. Taking strict steps, India has closed the facility of ‘Third Party Use’ to Bangladesh. This will not only harm his business, but the goods that they export to Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar will also be affected.

The Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs (CBIC) issued a notification on Tuesday (April 8, 2025), stating that the transmission facility for export cars for Bangladesh has been discontinued. The CBIC said that it has canceled its old notification of June 29, 2020, in which Bangladesh was given export facility in the third country through India’s land.

Till now, Bangladesh’s export cargo was transported to the port or ports of the third country in a container or closed truck and these containers or trucks were transported to these countries through Indian land i.e. Indian Land Cassum Stations (LCSS) route. Through this facility, he was easily able to export Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.

What did Mohammad Yunus say?
Mohammad Yunus was on a tour of China last month. In Beijing on March 28, he appealed to China to expand his economy, citing the northeastern states of India. He had said, ‘Seven states of India … Eastern parts of India … which are called Seven Sisters,’ These are landlocked areas of India. There is no way to reach the sea. We are the only guardians of the sea for this entire region… so it can expand to the Chinese economy. It opens the doors of huge possibility. Create things, produce … Take things in the market … bring things to China and reach the rest of the world.

Mohammad Yunus also mentioned Nepal and Bhutan regarding water resources. He had said, ‘Nepal and Bhutan have unlimited hydro power, which we can use for our purpose, can install factories and you can go anywhere through Bangladesh because the sea is just behind us.’ He also asked China that it is not necessary that you produce anything here and sell the world, but also produce in Bangladesh and also sell it in China. These are occasions, which we would like to take advantage of. He said that it is easy to produce things in Bangladesh.
