India in favor of permanent peace in entire Middle East, gives credit to Trump for Gaza ceasefire, condemns terrorism


India has given credit to Donald Trump for the ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. The Indian ambassador to the United Nations (UN) has described Trump’s Gaza ceasefire agreement as a historic initiative. During this, it was emphasized that negotiations should continue to maintain this agreement.

Indian Ambassador to the United Nations Parvataneni Harish said that today’s open debate is taking place in the background of the Gaza Peace Summit to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on 13 October 2025. India participated in this summit and we welcome this historic peace agreement. He said that peace and stability on the Palestinian front has an impact on the larger region. India is in favor of lasting peace in the entire Middle East. It is important that the agreement remains intact and the ceasefire remains in force.

India praised Trump
Indian Ambassador Parvataneni Harish praised US President Donald Trump for playing an important role in this agreement. He said that India also appreciates the role of Egypt and Qatar in achieving this goal. India stands firm on its view that dialogue, diplomacy and two-state solution are the only means to achieve peace. This historic initiative by America has provided diplomatic momentum towards peace and all parties must fulfill their obligations.

India condemned terrorism
Pointing to India’s stand on the developments since the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel, the Indian envoy said that India has condemned terrorism. Insisted on an end to the destruction, despair and suffering of civilians and demanded the immediate release of all hostages. It is also believed that humanitarian aid in Gaza should continue uninterrupted.

What did India give to Palestine?
Also reiterated India’s long standing stand on the issue of Palestine. He said that India had recognized Palestine as an independent country in 1988 and has continued its support since then till today. India has so far provided more than US $ 170 million in assistance to the Palestinian people, of which projects worth more than $ 40 million are underway at various stages.

Apart from this, in the last 2 years India has sent 135 metric tons of medicines and relief material to Gaza. Harish said that rehabilitation of the Palestinian people is possible only when the international community comes together and helps them.
