Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has once again praised India. He believes that India can play an important role in solving all the struggles going on around the world. During the United Nations General Assembly session, Giorgia Meloni said in a conversation with news agency ANI, “I think India can play a very important role.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Georgia Meloni had a phone conversation earlier this month, in which he discussed the regional and all global issues of mutual interest. Both the leaders agreed to end the Russia-Ukraine war as soon as possible and the need for a peaceful solution.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s full support for efforts in this direction. Both leaders reviewed the development in bilateral strategic partnership in areas such as investment, defense, security, space, science and technology, education, mutual relations between people and dealing with terrorism.
Important discussion on India-EU free trade agreement
The two leaders jointly reiterated their commitment to strengthen the partnership in accordance with 2025–29. Italy’s PM Meloni reiterated the strong support of Italy for the success of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement and the success of the European Union Impact Summit to be organized by India in 2026.

PM Modi and Georgia Meloni also agreed to take steps to promote connectivity under the Indo-Madhya Pradesh Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC). Explain that India and the European Union are working with honesty and commitment to finalize a balanced free trade agreement, which will increase trade in both countries, as well as the common people will benefit.
