Pakistan, who repeatedly threatened the atom bomb, will get a loud shock, when it comes to know that India has increased its nuclear weapons. This year the number of nuclear weapons of India has reached 180. The new report of Stockhom International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) stated that India is leading in Pakistan’s case, as well as India is gradually increasing the number of missiles carrying nuclear delivery systems i.e. nuclear weapons.
According to Sipri’s report, India is increasing the number of nuclear weapons very fast and this year the number of nuclear weapons of India has reached 180, as compared to last year it had 172 nuclear weapons. Last year, Sipri report came, in which it was told that Pakistan has 170 nuclear weapons.
The report said that India’s new ‘canistent’ missiles are very safe. Nuclear weapons can be already loaded in these missiles and can be able to carry nuclear weapons even during peace. In the coming time, new generations may also be able to carry several nuclear weapons simultaneously.
The report said that India is developing a new nuclear system and its new canisterized missiles can be installed on a missile once it is operational.
India’s new generation missile systems include Agni Prime (Agni-P) and multiple individal targeteable re-entry vehicle (MIRV) Saksham Agni-5 missile. According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, Agni-P, the fire series is the most advanced variant of missiles. It is a canisterized missile, which has a range of 1000 to 2000 kilometers. Last year, India successfully tested MIRV Saksham Agni-5. It can also attack the target from a distance of 5,000 km.
Sipri said about Pakistan’s nuclear program that he is also making nuclear missiles. In 2024, he collected materials to make weapons, which indicates how fast he is working on his nuclear program.
Sipri has also expressed concern about the 3-4-day fight between India and Pakistan last month. Mat Korda, who works with Sipri, said that due to attacks on nuclear bases and incorrect information, a simple fight can also turn into nuclear war. He said that this is a strict warning for those countries who want to increase their trust in nuclear weapons.
