India own browser: With the help of web browsers like Micrassoft, Google Crom and Mozilla Firefox, we reach our favorite internet sites. These browsers are used all over the world and now India can make its browser to compete. If India manages to make its indigenous browser, then it can get a big shock to big companies like Microsoft and Google.
The Government of India is encouraging the country’s IT companies to make their browser. For this, the government organized a web browser development challenge competition. All IT companies, innovators and developers across the country were invited to join it. There were a total of 58 entries in this competition, out of which three winners were selected. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced the names of the winners. The Union Minister also said that the winners were selected from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
These three selected winners
Zoho achieved the first place in this. For this, Joho has been given an amount of Rs 1 crore as a prize. Ping has secured the second place, which has been given a prize money of Rs 75 lakh. The third place has been secured by AJNA, which got Rs 50 lakh as a prize. During this, Ashwini Vaishnav said, India’s IT sector revenue is more than $ 282 billion.
However, till now the focus was only on services, but now the government is focusing on developing software products and for this, startups and academics are being promoted so that the country is ready to be its own browser, which can also follow the standards of data safety and privacy.
Many benefits of being a local browser
The country will have its own browser, so its benefits are also many. One, the data remains security. The country’s data will remain in the country. There is no danger of data leaking. The government will continue to keep an eye on this. It will work on iOS, Windows and Android all. With this, India will also help in achieving the government’s goal of making a ‘product nation’.
