Dr. Hari Singh Gour University: Dr. Harisingh Gaur University, earlier known as Sagar University, was established on 18 July 1946. It is the oldest university in Madhya Pradesh and is located in Sagar city. This university is named after the great legalist, educationist and freedom fighter Dr. Harisingh Gaur. It got the status of Central University in 2009, which further increased its importance.
The university is spread over a huge campus of 369 acres, which is full of greenery and modern facilities. There is state -of -the -art labs, smart classrooms and a large library which is a stock of knowledge for students.

The university has 12 schools which offer more than 85 courses in various subjects in which BA in undergraduate courses. (Hons), B.Sc. (Hons), B.Com. (Hons), B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Ed and postgraduate courses MA, M.Sc., M.Com, M.Tech, M.Pharma, M.Ed, MBA, L.L.M. Whereas in research programs, Ph.D. Offer in various subjects.

University fees are quite economical compared to other private universities.
- Undergraduate courses: Rs 8,000 to Rs 25,000 per year
- Postgraduate Courses: Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 per year
- Professional Courses (B.Tech, MBA): Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000 per year
- Ph.D. Programs: Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per year
- Apart from this, various scholarship schemes are also available for meritorious students.
