The court does not directly control sports events such as everyday decisions of government or autonomous institutions. The court clarified that stopping events like matches do not come in the judicial sector, unless a concrete legal violation is proved. That is, if an event clearly violates Article 21 (right to life and personal freedom) of the Constitution, such as it threatens public health or discrimination, the court can intervene. But events like cricket matches, who are associated with entertainment and sports, are considered a court policy case.
What was the demand of the petitioners
The petitioners demanded that the match should be canceled. Until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism, India should not do any sports or cultural program with it. At the same time, priority should be given to the national security, public spirit and morale of the soldiers, not entertainment ‘.
Now whose hand is the decision
So now the question arises that after this decision of the Supreme Court, who can decide to ban the match, then the answer is BCCI, that is, in this matter only the BCCI can take the decision whether the match will be played or not.
