India has described the report of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) regarding the minorities living in India as partisan and inspired by Rajaniti. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that USCIRF does not seem worried about religious freedom, but is trying to hurt India’s reputation by incorrectly showing some incidents. He said that there is a need to worry about the USCIRF about what he is doing.
In its annual report of 2025, USCIRF accused India of treating minorities badly. At the same time, the country’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) has also recommended strict restrictions on R&AW, expressing suspicion that the pro -Khalistan terrorists kill Khalistan terrorists.
‘Report is biased’, Randhir Jaiswal said
Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal, describing the report as biased, said that USCIRF has again presented some sporadic incidents. He said that this is not a real concern for the religious freedom of USCIRF, but it is an thoughtful agenda, under which an attempt was made to tarnish the image of India’s Vibrant Multicultural Society.
‘Need to worry about USCIRF’, Randhir Jaiswal said
Randhir Jaiswal said that such efforts will not be able to spoil India’s reputation as a symbol of democracy and tolerance. He said that it is actually a USCIRF, which needs to be worried.
Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘India has a population of 140 crore people, which follows different religions. However, we do not expect Uscirf to ever accept or try to show that people of different religious castes, communities and culture live together with each other.
The USCIRF report has requested India to classify as a ‘country of special concern’. The report said that in the year 2024, attacks on minorities on religious grounds have increased.
