The weapons purchased from Russia performed well in the Indo-Pakistan struggle after the Pahalgam terror attack. Especially the S-400 air defense system of Russia killed the Pakistani Awax aircraft flying at a distance of more than 250 kilometers. Apart from this, this system gave an accurate location of Pakistani drones, missiles and fighter jets. In such a situation, Russia wants India to deal with arms according to its needs.
Russia has offered India Sukhoi SU-57 fighter jet, Sukhoi su-35 jet, air-to-air R-37 missile and S-500 air defense system. India is in dire need of these weapons, but due to many reasons, India has not agreed to buy any new weapons from Russia.
‘Stealth aircraft SU-57 can make revolutionary changes’
Talking to the Russian Media Sputnik, Igor Korotchenko, director of the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade and Editor-in-chief of the Russian National Defense magazine, said Russia’s leading stealth aircraft SU-57 as well as long-range R-37 missiles and S-500 air defense systems can prove to be revolutionary changes for the Indian Army. He also said that many reports have claimed that India is considering the possibility of buying several new regiments of the S-400 missile defense system.
The S-500 Prometheus is also known as 55 R6M Triumpter-M. It is a Russian surface-to-air missile/anti-ballistic missile defense system, an upgraded version of the S-400 and A-235 ABM missile system. The S-500 has been developed by Almaz-Ante Air Defense Consorn.
Russia’s big claim regarding S-500
Russia claims that the S-500 is also capable of stopping the latest hypersonic weapons and has claimed to have successfully tested such a capacity. Sukhoi SU-57 is a double engine stealth multirol fighter aircraft. Russia has developed it under the Pak FA program. SU-57 is Russia’s first aircraft designed with stealth technology. This fighter aircraft is capable of attacking air war as well as land and sea.
