India Semi Final Qualification Chance: Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Aamir has been in the news for his sharp statements amid the 2026 T20 World Cup. Earlier he had called Abhishek Sharma ‘Lappebaaz’, which created a lot of uproar. Meanwhile, he had predicted that West Indies and South Africa will go to the semi-finals from the first group of Super-8 and India will not be able to qualify. Now Aamir has again reiterated his point that Team India will not be able to make it to the last 4.
Pakistan will do it, not India
While discussing a Pakistani show, Mohammad Aamir said that whether Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or not, India will not be able to go to the last-4.
Mohammad Aamir said, “Pakistan will qualify. Look, whether Pakistan does or not, India will not.”
So far, South Africa has reached the semi-finals from the first group of the Super-8 stage and England has reached the semi-finals from the second group. Whereas Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are out. There is competition between India, West Indies, Pakistan and New Zealand for the remaining 2 slots of the semi-finals.
Have predicted before also
Before the start of Super-8 stage, Mohammad Aamir had said that India will not go to the semi-finals from the first group of Super-8. According to him, South Africa and West Indies will reach the last-4. So far, half of Aamir’s predictions have come true as South Africa has entered the semi-finals. Whether what he said is completely true or not will be decided on March 1, when India and West Indies will clash.
Equation of India going to semi-finals
Currently, West Indies and India have two points each in the points table. West Indies’ net run rate is +1.791, while the Indian team is far behind at -0.100. But now the net run-rate will not be valid to reach the semi-finals because only if West Indies or India win on March 1, they will reach the semi-finals.
