India u19 test: Indian Under-19 team captain Ayush Mhatre scored 206 runs in the youth Test series against England and scored many records but not one but many records. He not only left Vaibhav Suryavanshi behind in terms of sixes, but has also become the biggest innings player in the Indian Under-19 Test history.
A new record made by hitting 2 sixes more than Vaibhav
While Vaibhav Suryavanshi is recognized for his aggressive batting and sixes, his opening partner and captain Ayush Mhatre has now come ahead with 2 sixes more than him. Ayush hit a total of 9 skyscraper sixes in the two Youth Test series played against England, while Vaibhav hit 7 sixes against Australia last year.
Saurabh Tiwari’s record also broken
Earlier in 2007–08, Saurabh Tiwari hit 8 sixes in the youth test series. This time Ayush also broke that record and has become the Indian under-19 player to hit the most sixes in a series. Out of these, he hit 6 sixes in a single innings, which was a strong performance in itself.
Captain scored 206 runs
In the second youth Test, Ayush played 80 runs in the first innings, and 126 runs in the second innings. Overall, he scored 206 runs in the match and became the first Indian captain to score 200+ runs in the Under-19 Tests. Earlier, this record was achieved by Tanmay Srivastava, who played a brilliant innings of 199 runs in a youth Test in 2006.
Ayush overtakes splendor in red ball
While the strength of Vaibhav Suryavanshi is considered in white ball cricket, Ayush Mhatre proved that he is the king of red ball cricket. His batting against England was not only strong, but also gave a strong sign for the future.
