Relations between BCCI and BCB have been deteriorating ever since KKR released Mustafizur Rahman. Bangladesh Cricket Board does not want to come to India for T20 World Cup 2026, they have demanded to shift their matches to Sri Lanka. Amidst this controversy, for the first time the teams of both the countries are to have a match against each other. This match of Under-19 World Cup will be held on Saturday.
BCCI had to give instructions to release Mustafizur Rahman, because after the murder of 2 Hindu youths in Bangladesh, there was a lot of opposition from KKR and the team owner. However, BCB then demanded to shift the T20 World Cup matches to Sri Lanka, which the ICC will probably reject because only 20 days are left for the tournament to start. Amidst this controversy, there is to be a clash between the Indian Under-19 and Bangladesh Under-19 teams in the Under-19 World Cup.

India made a great start to the tournament by defeating America in the first match, but the flop of the top order against the smaller team is a matter of concern. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring only 2 runs while captain Ayush Mhatre could also score only 19 runs. Vedant, who came at number three, was also out after scoring 2 runs. Khilan Patel’s brilliant bowling was seen in the first match, he took 5 wickets.
Bangladesh has talked about boycotting the T20 World Cup, although the BCB has removed the officer (director) who had said this from his post. But can BCB do the same in the Under-19 World Cup? Although this case is different, the Under-19 World Cup is being held in Zimbabwe and Namibia, whereas the BCB is against sending its team to India and not playing matches against India. Anyway, if BCB does something like this then ICC can take strict action against it.
