No bilateral series has been played between India and Pakistan for 13 years. After that, India and Pakistan teams have been coming face to face in other multi-nation tournaments including Asia Cup, World Cup and Champions Trophy. These days, the Indo-Pak match in the Asia Cup (Asia Cup India vs Pakistan) has been in the discussion. Meanwhile, the Government of India has brought a new policy, so that no bilateral series will be played between India and Pakistan.

What does the new policy of the Government of India say?

The Government of India has implemented a new policy, which says, “India or Pakistan, if bilateral sports events are played anywhere, Indian players/teams will not participate in competitions in Pakistan. We will not allow Pakistani players/teams to come to India. As far as international and multilateral sports events are concerned, we will take care of the rules of international sports institutions and our players.”

Will never India-Pakistan match?

The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan cricket teams was played in 2012. At the same time, after the 2008 Asia Cup, Team India has never played a cricket match on Pakistan’s soil. The new policy of the Government of India makes it clear that no bilateral series is possible in any sport between India and Pakistan.

If we look at the schedule of Asia Cup 2025, India and Pakistan will be played on 14 September. In the Asia Cup history, India and Pakistan have come face to face with a total of 18 times, out of which India won 10 times, 6 times the Pakistan team won, while their 2 matches could not get any results.
