Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has become the top Indian to win the most ‘Player of the Match’ titles in the T20 format. He equaled Mithali Raj. Both the players have done this feat 12-12 times so far.
In this list of Indian women players, Shefali Verma (8) and Smriti Mandhana (8) are jointly at second position. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 68 runs facing 43 balls in the fifth T20 match played against Sri Lanka at Greenfield International Stadium. During this period, his innings included 1 six and 9 fours.
Harmanpreet Kaur made a partnership of 61 runs with Amanjot Kaur at a time when the Indian team had lost 5 wickets till the score of 77.
On the other hand, Shefali Verma, who scored the highest 241 runs with an average of 80.33 in 5 matches of this series, was chosen as ‘Player of the Series’. This was the third time that the 21-year-old player was awarded this title. With this, Shefali has jointly become the number-1 Indian in terms of winning the most ‘Player of the Series’ titles.
