At the AI Impact Summit 2026, Galgotias University in Greater Noida has been accused of presenting China’s robotic dog as its own. In the summit, this robot was presented by the university as an AI technology developed in India. The claim was that this robot is an in-house developed technology of the university. After the university’s fraud came to light, government sources have said that they have been asked to vacate the AI Summit Expo immediately.
There was an uproar after the video went viral on social media
Regarding the indigenous AI robot, it was claimed on social media that this robot is actually a model made by a Chinese company. China Pulse shared pictures and videos of the robot on social media and claimed that it is the same model which has been previously demonstrated by a Chinese robotics company. Now it has come to light that this is actually a model of Chinese company Unitree Robotics, which was purchased from abroad and not made in India.

The university says that they never claimed to develop it, rather it is a tool brought for the students to learn. In a video that has gone viral on social media, a representative of the university is explaining the features of the robotic dog while talking to the media. In the video, it was named Orion and it was said that it has been prepared by the ‘Center of Excellence’ of the university.
What is Go2 Robotic Dog?
Within no time, the video went viral on social media and after this video surfaced, many tech experts and users claimed that it is actually the Go2 model of Chinese company Unitri, which is available in the market at a price of Rs 2 to 3 lakh. 4D LiDAR technology has been used in this AI-powered robotic dog, with the help of which apart from climbing stairs, it can also walk easily on rough roads.
