The Sports Ministry has clarified its stand on India vs Pakistan matches in any sport. Under the new policy, India will not play with Pakistan in any bilateral series or event, but Team India will not be stopped from playing with Pakistan in international matches and tournaments. This means that the Sports Ministry will not show any objection to the India-Pakistan match to be held in the Asia Cup.

In the statement issued by the Sports Ministry on August 20, it was said that India will not go to Pakistan to play any bilateral series nor will the Indian government allow Pakistan team to come to India and play. India and Pakistan will not have a match in any bilateral series, but no Indian player or team will be prevented from participating in international events, in which only the Pakistani team or players are participating. Apart from this, Pakistan players will not be prevented from participating in any international tournament or match organized by India.

What is the goal?
It was also informed in the ongoing document that the Government of India aims to prepare the country to host maximum international events. The government is also insisting on making that process easier, so that foreign players and teams do not face much problems in coming to India. The visa process has been made easier for international sports organizations, which will be able to get a visa of up to 5 years. This has been done to improve relationship with international sports organizations.
