If you dream of serving the country while flying high in the sky, then your wait is now over. Indian Air Force has released the recruitment notification for AFCAT i.e. Air Force Common Admission Test 2026 batch. This examination is a golden opportunity for those youth who want to become officers in the Air Force. The application process will start from 10 November 2025 and will continue till 9 December 2025. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website afcat.cdac.in.
AFCAT exam is a national level exam, which is conducted by the Indian Air Force twice every year. Through this recruitment, candidates can join Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches. The training of selected candidates will start from January 2027.
The educational qualification for this Air Force examination has been decided according to the posts. For Flying Branch, the candidate must have passed 12th class with Physics and Maths subjects. Also, one should have graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university with minimum 60 percent marks. For Ground Duty (Technical) branch, a degree in engineering or technology is required, while for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) graduation with 60 percent marks in any subject is required.

The age limit has also been kept different. The age of flying branch candidates should be between 20 to 24 years, whereas for ground duty this limit has been fixed at 20 to 26 years. Reserved categories will be given age relaxation as per government rules.
Selection will be like this
The selection process is completed in three stages. First of all, the candidates have to appear in the online examination (CBT). In the examination, questions are asked from subjects like General Knowledge, English, Mathematics and Reasoning. Candidates who are successful in this examination are called for AFSB interview i.e. Air Force Selection Board interview. Candidates who pass the interview undergo medical examination and then final selection is made on the basis of merit list.
How to apply?
This time the recruitment of AFCAT 01/2026 batch will be completely through online process. Applications will be accepted only on the official website. After the start of the application, candidates go to afcat.cdac.in and click on the application link, do a new registration with your email ID and mobile number, fill the required information, upload photo and signature, deposit the fee and finally take a print out of the application form.
