Indian Army Trials Next Gen Defense Technologies: The Indian Army is currently performing extensive capacity development at main places across the country including Pokhran Field Firing Range, Babina Field Firing Range and Joshimath. Apart from this, special air defense equipment performances are also being organized in Agra and Gopalpur.

These field -based trials are being conducted almost under circumstances such as war, in which the performance of state -of -the -art defense systems is being closely assessed to electronically artificial war skills. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Babina Field Firing Range on May 27, 2025 and reviewed the programs going on there and held talks with all the stakeholders.

What is the importance of these tests

In these activities, a wide range of advanced technologies developed under the self -sufficient India initiative are displayed, which aims to accelerate the development of indigenous capacity. These tests are an important step in the roadmap of the Indian Army’s “decade of change” and their purpose is to ensure rapid inclusion of emerging technologies to meet the needs of emerging war conditions. A large number of defense industry partners are participating in this defense performance, which shows the increasing coordination between the Indian Army and domestic manufacturers.

Through these evaluations, the Indian Army aims to expand its technical edge, increase operational readiness and confirm its commitment to indigenous innovation and self -reliance in defense capacity development.
