Indian cricket team gets another DSP, after Siraj and Deepti Sharma, this cricketer will be seen in police uniform.


Indian cricket team has got a new DSP. Indian women’s cricket team’s wicketkeeper batsman Richa Ghosh has got the post of DSP in West Bengal Police. On Saturday, November 8, a felicitation ceremony was organized at Eden Gardens, in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself handed over the appointment letter to Richa Ghosh. The state government also honored him with the Banga Bhushan Award.

Cricket Association of Bengal awarded Richa Ghosh with the Golden Bat and Golden Ball. Besides, he also got a cash prize of Rs 34 lakh. Let us remind you that Richa had played a valuable inning of 34 runs in 24 balls on a very important occasion in the World Cup final match. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also presented a gold chain on behalf of the state government.

Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly and veteran women cricketer Jhulan Goswami were also present in this honor ceremony organized at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also honored Richa Ghosh’s parents. Before Richa Ghosh, famous cricketers like Deepti Sharma, Mohmand Siraj, Joginder Sharma are holding the post of DSP.

Richa Ghosh made her international cricket debut in the year 2020, after which she has brought tremendous improvement in her performance. Richa was seen playing the role of finisher for Team India with her explosive batting throughout the World Cup tournament. This was the second World Cup trophy for Richa, because in the year 2023, she had won the World Cup title while being a part of the Indian Under-19 team.

Richa Ghosh scored 235 runs in 8 matches of the World Cup. She stood fifth among the batsmen who scored the most runs for India. He played a memorable inning of 94 runs against South Africa in the league stage match. His inning of 34 runs in the final played an important role in India winning the final.
