Many people including four Indians were injured in an attack in Ufa, Russia. The Indian Embassy in Moscow has posted this information on X. The incident took place in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, where attackers attacked with knives in the sports hall of a hostel for foreign students of a university. The statement of the Indian Embassy has come after the incident of attack on Indian students which was reported in the local media.

The Indian Embassy in Moscow said, ‘Many people, including four Indian students, have been injured in the unfortunate incident of attack in Ufa, Russia. The embassy is in touch with the authorities and officials of the Consulate General in Kazan are leaving for Ufa to assist the injured students.

Russian website RTVI quoted Home Ministry spokesperson Major General Irina Volk as saying that ‘the attacker resisted the arrest, during which two police officers were stabbed. The suspect also tried to physically harm himself.
Apart from this, there are also discussions on Russian Telegram channels that the number of attackers could be two, one of them, a 15-year-old teenager, was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
