India Pakistan Indus Water Treaty: Pakistan, which gives India a jackal of atomic bomb and sheltering terrorists, is craving for water today. After the postponement of the Indus Water Agreement by the Government of India, the circle of Pakistan has started drying up. In such a situation, when Pakistan was not getting drinking water, it was forced to beg in front of India and started pleading with the Government of India to release water.
However, the Modi government has made its stand clear about this. The Union Ministry of Water Power told Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan, “The Indus Water Treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan relinquish its support for cross -border terrorism.”

At the same time, in its monthly report submitted to Cabinet Secretary TV Somathan on Tuesday (May 13), Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Debashree Mukherjee said, “The government has announced that the treaty has been postponed with immediate effect after the Pakistan -sponsored terror attack on citizens in Pahalgam.”
Mukherjee said in his report, “The major water-distribution treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan trusted and permanently stop supporting terrorism.”
The Indus Water Treaty (IWT) in the World Bank’s mediation in 1960 is related to the distribution and use of water of the Indus River and its tributaries between India and Pakistan.

According to sources, Pakistan’s Water Resources Secretary Syed Ali Murtaza expressed the readiness of his government to discuss the specific objections raised by New Delhi. However, the Government of India is firm on its decision to postpone the treaty.
