51 -year -old businessman Harjit Singh Dhadda, a resident of Canada, was shot dead in Mississaga. Dhadda was shot dead by criminals at Telford Way near Dixon and Herry Road, who were declared dead in the hospital. His daughter Gurleen Dhadda has given information about the matter by sharing the post on social media platform Instagram.
He wrote on social media that my name is Gurleen Dhadda. I am the daughter of Harjeet Singh Dhadda and I want justice for my father. I want justice for every family that are lost from this system. He further wrote that this incident has shook my family and the whole society.
‘We kept begging the police for security’
Gurleen Dhadda told that for the last few years my father was receiving threats for ransom. In April 2023, we also faced a possible attack. We had informed the police about this and we kept begging them for our safety, but we did not get any help from them. The Canadian police failed to protect us. He said that even after giving information about the attack, we were not given any security. The police did not take any action. Due to this, an innocent person lost his life.
‘Why action is not being taken against those seeking ransom?’
Gurleen asked questions to the Canadian government and said that what action is the government taking against those who demand ransom and people attacking people? Such attacks are increasing and innocent people are feeling insecure, while the police is not taking any action against them. In such a situation, what option do we have?
He said that we need to improve laws, when police and concerned agencies cannot guarantee the safety of the people, then they can take necessary steps for their own safety. Everyone has the right to save themselves. Gurleen told the people that today my father has lost his life, someone can be yours tomorrow. So stand with us and demand justice.
