Varun Chakraborty, during a conversation on ‘Breakfast with Champions’ podcast, said that lifting the trophy did not mean much. This does not change the fact that Team India achieved the title of becoming Asian champion.
Varun Chakraborty said, “I knew that we were going to win all the matches. We are the number-1 team in the world. The cup can be taken away from us, but we are the champions.”
Let us remind you that after the historic victory of the Indian team on September 28, Varun Chakraborty had posted on X and wrote, “Akkha world on one side and my India on one side. Jai Hind.”

In the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team had defeated Pakistan not once or twice but thrice. Recalling his thoughts before the final, Varun Chakraborty said, “I knew that we would win, because as soon as we beat them for the second time in the tournament, I knew that we would face each other in the final as well. We were going to win.”
Varun also told about his dream of getting his picture clicked while sleeping with the trophy, but Mohsin Naqvi had taken the trophy with him. In such a situation, Chakraborty had posed for a photo with a coffee cup that felt like the Asia Cup trophy.
