The semi-final matches of the Women’s World Cup 2025 are starting from October 29. The Indian team will face Australia in the semi-finals on October 30, but before that, India’s strong opener Pratika Rawal has got injured. Due to this injury he had to be ruled out of the World Cup. He suffered this injury while fielding in the match against Bangladesh on 26 October.
Pratika Rawal slipped while fielding near the boundary in the rain-affected India vs Bangladesh match. He suffered knee and ankle injuries due to his leg turning, after which he was taken out of the field with the help of support staff. Pratika could not return to the field after that. On the other hand, due to continuous rain, no result could be achieved in the India vs Bangladesh match.
Pratika Raval’s exclusion from the World Cup is a big blow for Team India. The pair of him and Smriti Mandhana has given good starts to Team India in most of the World Cup matches. Pratika is also at second place in terms of scoring most runs in the tournament. So far 308 runs have come from his bat. In the first place is her opening partner Smriti Mandhana, who has scored 365 runs so far.
Now the concern of Team India has increased that who will open with Smriti Mandhana in the semi-final match? Harleen Deol can be an option, who usually bats at number 3, but due to her experience of playing with the new ball, it is possible that she may be promoted to the opening order. All-rounder Amanjot Kaur, who scored an unbeaten 15 in the match against Bangladesh, is also likely to be considered.
Harleen’s average at number-3 is 36, so there is hardly any change in her order. If Amanjot Kaur plays as an opener, then entry of a new player in the lower order is possible.
