UPI in Malaysia: The dominance of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is now being seen in the world. Recently, NIPL, the international unit of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has officially launched its services in Malaysia. Which means, now Indians going to Malaysia will be able to make payment through UPI.

Deal made with Malaysia
An agreement has been reached between India and Malaysia regarding UPI payment. Under this agreement, India’s NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Malaysia’s payment gateway Razorpay Curlak have joined hands. After this agreement, Indian citizens will be able to use Phone Pay, Google Pay, Paytm etc. to make any kind of payment in Malaysia. In Malaysia, this facility will work through Razorpay Curlak’s platform.

On one hand, tourists going to Malaysia will benefit from this new facility. They will be able to use UPI for shopping or other purposes. They will also avoid heavy charges for purchasing Malaysian Ringgit and international credit and debit cards.
Along with this, those doing business in Malaysia will also directly benefit from it. They will use UPI for their business related payments. Due to which the time of businessmen of both the countries will be saved.
