The story of Hana Ahmed Khan, a resident of Hyderabad, is heartbreaking. In June 2022, Hana was married to Mohammad Zainuddin Khan, an American citizen working in the Chicago Police. In February 2024, Hana went to America to live in Chicago with her husband, but there she faced emotional exploitation, physical harassment and mental torture there.
Hana has now requested External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar to intervene in this matter. They demand that they be provided the necessary visas to return to America, so that they can fight their case legally.
Husband left Hyderabad and went back to America
Hana claims that her husband brought her back to Hyderabad on 7 February 2025 on the pretext of Umrah and held her at the park hotel in Somajiguda. When Hana went to meet her parents, her husband vacated the hotel with her passport, green card, jewelery and other items and went back to America. After this incident, Hana lodged a complaint at the Panjaguda police station, under which an FIR was lodged.
All attempts to contact husband failed
For the last 6 months, Hana has been trying to contact her husband, but all her efforts have failed. He also sought help from the officials concerned in the US Embassy and Hyderabad, but did not get any concrete results.
Request for help from Ministry of External Affairs
Hana hopes that now the Ministry of External Affairs and American Embassy will help them, so that they can fight for their rights. No official statement has been received on this matter yet, but Hana says that she will make every effort for justice.
Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjadullah Khan has appealed to External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to provide justice to Hana Ahmed Khan of Hyderabad.
