India Women Vs Sri Lanka Women T20I Series 2025: Indian women’s cricket team, continuing its aggressive game, will try to make a 5-0 clean sweep in the five-match series by winning against Sri Lanka in the fifth and final Women’s T20 International match to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. This series is an important part of India’s preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held in England in June-July next year (2026). After the current series against Sri Lanka, the Indian women’s team will play three T20 Internationals each in Australia and England before the World Cup.

Harmanpreet Kaur gave statement

The Indian team was out of the group stage in the T20 World Cup in 2024 but after that it changed its style and adopted more aggression which gave it favorable results. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, ‘This series was great for all of us. After the last World Cup, we had discussed that we have to raise our level and play more aggressively in T20.

Shefali Verma impressed in this series

In the first three matches, Indian bowlers performed brilliantly due to which the batsmen had to do very little work. However, Shefali Verma, who plays aggressively in these matches, has impressed. The biggest matter of concern for India is its fielding. She has not been able to perform well in this department so far. In the last match also, Team India dropped two catches and missed one stumping opportunity.

Renuka Singh Thakur made a great comeback in this series

There were many positive aspects in this series for the Indian team. Fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur made a successful comeback in this format after a gap of one year, while Deepti Sharma, who is always reliable, continues to perform well. Left arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma has also performed as per her potential. This 20-year-old bowler has taken four wickets in the series so far at an economy rate of 5.73.

Shefali Verma scored 3 half-centuries in this series

Shefali has performed brilliantly in batting. He has scored three half-centuries in four matches so far and his strike rate is 185.82. Another big relief for the Indian team was the return to form of vice-captain Smriti Mandhana. This left-handed batsman scored 80 runs in 48 balls in the fourth T20 International match and she will try to maintain this rhythm.

Shefali and Smriti made a record breaking partnership

In the fourth match, Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana displayed brilliant aggressive batting and made a partnership of 162 runs in just 92 balls, which is the biggest partnership for the first wicket for India in Women’s T20 International matches. In the last match, India sent Richa Ghosh to bat at number three and this wicketkeeper batsman proved this decision right by scoring unbeaten 40 runs in just 16 balls.

India and Sri Lanka made their big score in T20 International

The first three matches were low-scoring, but the fourth match saw a lot of runs and both India and Sri Lanka made their highest ever score in this format. When invited to bat first, India scored 221 runs for two wickets. Sri Lanka also batted well while chasing a big target but in the end they could only score 191 runs for six wickets. This brilliant performance by the batsmen must have definitely boosted Sri Lanka’s confidence. Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu returned to form in the last match by scoring 52 runs in 37 balls but she needs useful contributions from other batsmen as well.

Both the teams for this series are as follows:
