Indigo flight emergency landing: An Indigo flight made an emergency landing in Ranchi. Officials said that on Monday (June 2, 2025), the vulture was hit at an altitude of 4000 feet from an Indigo flight going to Ranchi. The aircraft suffered little damage after the vulture hit the aircraft, but there was no untoward.

Ranchi Airport officials told the news agency PTI that there were a total of 175 passengers in IndiGo flight during the incident. After the emergency landing of the aircraft, all the passengers have been taken safely. No passenger has suffered any kind of damage.

Incident occurred with aircraft 10 to 12 nautical miles from Ranchi Airport- Maurya

RR Maurya, director of Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, told PTI, “IndiGo flight collided with a bird after reaching Ranchi. It was about 10 to 12 notical miles from the flight airport and about three to four thousand feet during the incident.”

He said, “IndiGo aircraft was coming from Patna to Ranchi. During this time, the emergency landing was announced by the aircraft pilot after the aircraft collided.

Investigation of damage being done after the accident- Maurya

Airport director RR Morya said, “The incident took place on Monday (June 2, 2025) at 1.14 pm. However, after hitting the vulture at a height of 4000 feet, the aircraft has a dent, but all the passengers sitting in the aircraft are safe. No passengers were damaged.”

He also said, “Since this incident, the team of engineers has been investigating the damage done to the aircraft.” At the same time, another official told PTI that after coming from Patna to Ranchi, IndiGo’s flight was a schedule to go to Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal.
