Indigo flight received bomb threat at Kolkata airport, plane stopped, letter found in toilet

There was a stir at Kolkata Airport when information came to light that a suspicious note containing a bomb threat was found in the toilet of a Shillong-bound Indigo flight. As a precaution, the plane was immediately taken to a different location and security agencies started investigation.

Suspicious note found in toilet
A suspicious note was recovered from the toilet of IndiGo flight 6E-7304 going from Kolkata to Shillong. According to initial information, it is suspected that there was a bomb threat written in the note.

Aircraft parked in isolation bay
This flight, which took off at 9:15 in the morning, was taken to the isolation bay away from the passengers as per the prescribed security protocol. After this, teams of bomb disposal squad and other security agencies started a thorough search of the plane.

All passengers were disembarked safely
According to officials, all the passengers have been safely deboarded from the plane. The airport administration and security agencies are continuously monitoring the situation and every necessary step is being taken.

Indigo’s statement
IndiGo has said that all necessary security procedures are being followed and full cooperation is being provided with the security agencies. Officials say that only after the investigation is completed, any decision regarding further flight operations will be taken. At present, security investigation is going on and the entire matter is being taken seriously.

CISF deployed in large numbers
After this incident, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was deployed in large numbers. Security personnel were deployed around the isolation zone. Special vehicles of the airport, like the fire brigade vehicle, also reached the spot. Ground staff wearing high-visibility jackets were seen coordinating the entire operation.

Suspicious object not confirmed
The aircraft’s luggage was also taken down and kept on the runway, where the dog squad and bomb disposal squad are doing special investigation. Airport authorities have not yet confirmed whether any suspicious object has been found.
