The news of the old estrangement between US President Donald Trump and London Mayor Sadiq Khan is often in the news. Both have given sharp statements on each other many times. The latest example of this was seen when while returning to London during Trump’s visit to Trump, he said that Mayor Sadiq Khan should attend the state dinner organized by the king at Windsor Castle. Earlier too, Trump had publicly targeted Sadiq Khan as a ‘poor person’.

He told London a global success story and said that the city is open, dynamic and safe than the American cities.
Controversy started in 2015
The controversy between President Trump and Sadiq Khan began in 2015, when Mayor Khan condemned Trump’s suggestion of ban on Muslims to come to America. After this, Trump challenged Sadiq for the IQ Test in 2016. Trump attacked the mayor’s manner during the London Bridge terrorist attack in 2017. During Trump’s first UK visit in 2019, Sadiq Khan allowed a plan to blow a ‘Trump Baby’ Blimp in protest against him.
In July this year, Trump attacked Sadiq Khan at a press conference with the British PM Kir Stmper in Scotland and called him a “poor person”. Thousands of protesters gathered to protest at Parliament Square during Britain’s second state visit, while four people were arrested on Windsor Castle before the state banquet.
