Indian Premier League season 18 is starting once again, it will start with RCB vs KKR match on 17 May. The final match will be played on 3 June. But before that, Cricket South Africa has given a shock. CSA has asked the players involved in the World Test Championship to come back by 26 May, this will cause losses to 6 teams including Mumbai Indians, RCB, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings which are involved in the playoff race.

The final match of the ICC World Test Championship will be played between Australia and South Africa. The title match will be held from 11 to 15 June at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Cricket South Africa has directed its players involved in the squad to come back by 26 May. This is so that the players can get enough time to prepare for the debuts final.

These IPL teams will get a shock

By the way, there are a total of 20 South African players, who are associated with different teams in IPL 2025. But out of these, there are 8 players who are part of the WTC Final Squad. These include 2 players in the Mumbai Indians team.

Among them, only Sunrisers Hyderabad, who has been out of the playoff race.

The final match of IPL 2025 was to be played at the Eden Gardens on 25 May, but it was stopped after 57 matches amidst India Pakistan tension situation. Now the date of its final has been fixed on 3 June, while the WTC final will start only a week later. The players of South Africa were asked to join the team by 26th, so that they could get enough time before leaving for England on May 30.

South Africa team head coach Shukri Konrad said, “This conversation is going on among people with high -paying people, that is, the Director of Cricket Director (Hanok Encway) and Foletessi Moseki (CSA CEO), so they are dealing with it. But as it is, I don’t think we are going to back down. We want our players back on 26th, and hope that we will be like this.”
