IPL 2025 mi vs rr: On the basis of the brilliant bowling of Karn Sharma and Trent Bolt, Mumbai Indians (MI) won their sixth consecutive win in IPL 2025 and defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a huge margin of 100 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium and topped the points table.
Mumbai, batting first, scored a huge score of 217/2, contributing an unbeaten 48-48 runs of Suryakumar Yadav and Captain Hardik Pandya along with the half-century innings of Ryan Recelton and Rohit Sharma. After this, MI’s bowling covered RR for just 117 runs in 16.1 overs, which led to his first win in Jaipur after 2012.
This magnificent victory of Mumbai brought his net run rate to 1.274, which is the best in the tournament. On the other hand, this crushing defeat dropped Rajasthan Royals from IPL 2025. MI, who came out to defend the huge target of 217 runs, kept pressure on RR from the beginning. Deepak Chahar got young Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored a century in 35 balls in the last match, caught out at the mid-on at zero in two balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal hit two sixes against Trent Bolt, but Bolt scattered his gills in the same over.
Nitish Rana became the next victim, who caught Deep Square leg off Bolt’s ball. Ryan Parag was harassed by continuous short balls and finally he gave the top-edge to the mid-wicket off Jaspreet Bumrah. Bumrah also caught Shimran Hetmyer on mid-wicket on the next ball. RR in Powerplay was reduced to 62/5. Shubham Dubey showed some resistance by scoring 15 runs in nine balls, but Hardik Pandya caught him out on long-on. Dhruv Jurlel tried to sweep a paddle off Karn Sharma, but with gloves, the ball went into Karna’s hands, who came as an impact player.
Karna broke RR’s back with two wickets in the 12th over, while Bolt ended the innings by catching Jofra Archer (30) on a short fine leg. This victory further strengthened the position of MI.
