IPL 2026 Auction: A big update has come out just before the mega auction of Indian Premier League 2026. While releasing the final auction list, BCCI has deleted the names of 1,005 players. Now only 350 players will be available for auction. In which a big surprise name is also included, that of South Africa’s legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock.
Return of star player created a stir
Quinton de Kock has recently withdrawn his retirement from international cricket. A demand to include him in the auction list was made by a franchisee. After scoring a explosive century in the third ODI played against India in Visakhapatnam, De Kock changed his mind and decided to take part in the auction. This time he has kept his base price at Rs 1 crore, which is half of the previous mega auction. Knight Riders included him in their team at a base price of Rs 2 crore.
35 new players were added, many were removed
BCCI included 35 new players in the final list of the auction, who were not registered earlier. These include names like Sri Lanka’s Triven Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera, Dunit Velalge, Afghanistan’s Arab Gul and West Indies’ Akeem Auguste.
At the same time, more than 20 names of Indian players including Sadek Hussain, Vishnu Solanki, Sagar Solanki, Parikshit Valsangkar and Ijaz Sawaria have been suddenly added to the list.
