The year 2025 proved to be historic for the Indian IPO market. This year, companies raised a record equity capital of Rs 1.75 lakh crore through IPOs. 267 companies raised Rs 11,429 crore on the SME platform. A total of 103 companies were listed in the stock market, out of which 69 shares opened above the issue price, while 33 were listed below.
The enthusiasm diminished with time and currently only 54 shares are above the issue price. The IPO market was positive for the startup sector. 18 startups including Lenskart, Groww, Meesho and Physics Wallah raised Rs 41,000 crore. Highway Infrastructure posted a 64% listing gain, while Glottis fell about 53%. IPO funding increased by Rs 25,000 crore compared to 2024.
