Iran has issued a strict warning to America amid increasing American military activities in the Middle East. A senior Iranian official has said that if any kind of attack is made on Iran, whether it is limited or extensive, then Iran will see it as a total war and it will be responded to in a very harsh manner. This statement has come at a time when an American aircraft carrier strike group and other military resources are going to reach the Middle East in the coming days.
An Iranian official, on condition of anonymity, said that Iran is watching this military gathering seriously. According to him, Iran hopes that this preparation is not being done with the intention of any real conflict, but still the country’s army is on full alert for every possible situation.
According to Reuters report, the Iranian official said in clear words that this time any attack, whether limited, surgical or by any other name, Iran will consider it as a direct war against itself. He said that Iran will give the strictest response in such a situation, so that no one has the courage to attack Iran in the future.
Trump’s warning and Iran’s reaction
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a US armada was headed towards Iran, although he also said he hoped not to use it. Trump had warned Iran neither to harm the protesters nor to restart its nuclear program. Responding to this, the Iranian official said that if America violates Iran’s sovereignty or territorial integrity, Iran will not remain silent. However, he did not clarify what form Iran’s reaction would take.
Iran’s stance under constant pressure
The Iranian official said that a country that has been facing American military pressure and threats for a long time has no option but to strengthen its defense capability. He said that whatever resources Iran has, they have been kept ready to protect the country and maintain balance.
Military presence has increased earlier also
It is noteworthy that even before this, America has been increasing its military presence in the Middle East during times of tension. Many times this was described as a defensive move, but even before the attacks on Iran’s nuclear program in June last year, America had conducted a large-scale military mobilization. In such a situation, the concern and uncertainty in the area regarding the current situation has increased further.
