Due to the approaching festival of Diwali and Chhath, thousands of passengers wanted to book their tickets as soon as Tatkal booking started, but they were disappointed due to the website not working. According to DownDetector, a website that monitors outages, there have been about 5000 reports of this website being down.

Railway officials have confirmed that IRCTC is down. He said that this has happened due to technical reasons. He says that work is being done to resolve this problem and normal service will be restored soon.
