Irfan felt very cold
While talking to ‘Digital Commentary’, costume designer Smriti Chauhan remembered Irrfan’s last film and his last moments. By design, Irrfan would always say one thing again and again, ‘Smriti, I feel very cold’.
He told Smriti about a brand in London and asked her to bring warm clothes for him from there if possible. The costume designer says that he agreed to his request without any delay because Irfan’s pain was clearly visible.

weight was continuously decreasing
Irfan’s weight was continuously decreasing during the shooting. His body was shrinking due to which padding had to be added to his clothes. Smriti told that she was dressed in many layers, yet padding was necessary. Even in the summer scenes, he was made to wear a vest with padding in it.
family together all the time
The costume designer says that Irfan often felt very weak due to illness. His body was not cooperating. In such a situation, his family was around him all the time. Many times it happened that the shooting had to be stopped midway because the pain was unbearable.
The costume designer further became very emotional while describing Irfan’s problem. He said that many times it happened on the shooting set that Irrfan could not reach and the shooting had to be cancelled. He said, ‘I think he was completely sure that his aim was only to work and he kept working.
