The Asia Cup trophy dispute may drag on for a long time. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was going to raise this issue in the ICC meeting. Now there is news that due to ongoing political issues in Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi may miss the ICC meeting. The four-day long meeting started on Tuesday.

Mohsin Naqvi is also the chairman of Asian Cricket Council. He may have to face sharp questions from BCCI in the ICC meeting. But according to the latest update, he will not come to the meeting. Let us remind you that after winning the final on September 28, the Indian team had refused to take the trophy from Naqvi’s hands.

According to a report published in India Today, a PCB source did not say due to which domestic political issues Mohsin Naqvi would not attend the meeting. Naqvi is the Home Minister of Pakistan and has not participated in a single ICC meeting after Jai Shah became ICC Chairman.

Sumair Syed can attend the ICC meeting in place of Naqvi. It was also told in the report that if Naqvi is unable to reach Dubai, then he can be present in the board meeting on 7th November i.e. the last day of the meeting. The Indian team became the champion on September 28, but the trophy is still locked in the office of the Asian Cricket Council in Dubai.

Mohsin Naqvi is not only the chairman of Asian Cricket Council but also the chairman of PCB. It is clear from the beginning that if Team India wants to take the trophy, then he will hand over the trophy to the Indian players with his own hands. But Team India had flatly refused to take the trophy from his hands on the day of the final itself. Due to this, the post match presentation also started late by 90 minutes.
