LPG Gas Check Tips: If the gas cylinder runs out in the kitchen, the entire work comes to a halt. In such a situation, when a new cylinder reaches home, most people install it without checking it. But many times complaints come up that less gas comes out in the cylinder. Some people doubt whether there was some disturbance in the gas during delivery. This is the reason why it is important to be a little cautious while taking the cylinder. These days the situation regarding the supply of LPG cylinders is very strict in the country.
Therefore, there is a fear that the agency or delivery person might give you a cylinder with less gas. If you feel that the cylinder got exhausted quickly or there was less gas in it, then you can check it yourself with some easy methods. With correct information, not only losses can be avoided but complaints can also be lodged if necessary.
Be sure to check the weight while taking the cylinder.
Whenever a new LPG cylinder arrives at home, the first thing you should do is check its weight. Every domestic cylinder is filled with 14.2 kg of gas. Along with this, the empty weight of the cylinder is also written. Which is called tare weight. Usually this is written in paint on the top or side of the cylinder.
If the weight of gas and cylinder is added, the total weight is around 29 to 30 kg. Delivery boys usually have a weighing machine. You can ask him to weigh the cylinder and show it. If the weight is less than the prescribed limit, you have the right to return the cylinder at that time.

easy hot water test
If the weight of the cylinder cannot be checked then a small home remedy can also be useful. For this, take some hot water in a bucket or jug and pour it slowly from the edge of the cylinder. After some time, touch the cylinder body with your hand. As far as the part is filled with gas, it feels cold, whereas the empty part does not make much difference. In this way it can be estimated how much gas is left in the cylinder. However, this is not considered a completely accurate method. But if the gas is very less then this may be an indication.
If in doubt, complain immediately
If you feel that there is less gas in the cylinder or there is some kind of disturbance, then there is no need to remain silent. You can contact the gas agency immediately. While making a complaint, it is necessary to mention the date of delivery of the cylinder, the consumer number and the name of the agency. Many companies also have mobile apps and helpline numbers where complaints can be lodged. After investigation, if any defect is found then the cylinder can be replaced by the company. Therefore, the best way is to take some care while buying the cylinder so that there is no problem later.
