Will there be trading in the stock market today?
According to the stock market list, the Indian stock market will remain closed for normal trading today on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada. BSE and National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) as well as commodity exchanges – Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) and National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) have declared trading holiday today.
When are the holidays in the stock market?
The Indian stock market remained closed on 21st October i.e. yesterday also. Muhurta trading session was opened for only one hour. There were three days of holiday in the stock market in October 2025 – 2 October 2025 for Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra, 21 October 2025 for Diwali Lakshmi Puja and 22 October 2025 for Diwali Balipratipada.
According to the holiday list of the stock market, this year the stock market will remain closed for 18 days. After the October holidays, BSE and NSE will remain closed for one day each in November and December. The next holiday of the stock market in November will be on the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 5th November. The stock market will remain closed in December on the occasion of Christmas.
Which stocks saw rise yesterday?
During Muhurat trading on Tuesday, there was a rise in the shares of Bajaj Finserv, which rose by 1.11 percent and closed at Rs 2,163.15. After this, a rise of 0.72 percent was recorded in the shares of Infosys, which reached the price of Rs 1,472.00. Shares of Axis Bank closed at Rs 1,234.00 with a gain of 0.64 percent.
After this, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) shares saw a rise of 0.60 percent and Tata Motors saw a rise of 0.55 percent. HDFC Bank closed at Rs 1,007.30 with a gain of 0.40 per cent, Power Grid closed at Rs 288.80 with a gain of 0.38 per cent.
Shares of L&T closed at Rs 3,887.00 with a gain of 0.34 percent. Similarly, Adani Ports closed with a slight increase of 0.28 percent, BEL 0.26 percent and SBI 0.07 percent. Shares of Sun Pharma also saw a rise on Tuesday, rising by 0.09 percent to reach Rs 1,699.00, while Tech Mahindra rose by 0.12 percent to reach Rs 1,446.50.
