Is the stock market open today?
Indian stock market will remain closed on Wednesday. There is a holiday today in both the major exchanges of the country, BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange). That means, there will be no trading in share, derivatives and currency markets today. Talking about the month of November, there is not a single holiday in this month except the weekly holiday. The Indian stock market is closed on 5 November on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti. At the same time, there will be normal trading in the stock market from Thursday 6th November.
Talking about the holiday list of the stock market, there will be no trading in the stock market on 25th December. A holiday has been announced due to Christmas. There is a weekly holiday in the stock market on Saturday and Sunday. No business of any kind is done on this day.
How was the market condition on Tuesday?
There was a huge decline in the Indian stock market on Tuesday. Both the major indexes closed trading in the red. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 519.34 points or 0.62 percent to close at 83,459.15. At the same time, NSE Nifty ended the trading day at 25,597.65 points with a decline of 165.70 points or 0.64 percent. Market experts believe that the reason behind this decline was the continuous selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and weakness in Asian and European markets which turned the domestic market into red.
