The final of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup will be played between India and South Africa in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. The South African team has reached the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time, while Team India will play the title match for the third time. Both the teams have not won the World Cup title yet. The Indian women’s cricket team under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur is one win away from creating history in the ODI World Cup and in such a situation, there is tremendous excitement among the fans about this match, but they are facing disappointment due to not getting tickets.
After the performance of the Indian team in the semi-finals, a crowd of fans can be seen outside the DY Patil Stadium for tickets for the final. To attract spectators to the stadium, the ticket price started at just Rs 100, but till Saturday afternoon, tickets were not available for spectators in the stadium.
Pandian Parimal of Thane district told that he had come to the stadium in the morning but no one is getting tickets here. He said, “I have come here since 9 in the morning, but there is a lot of crowd here and no one is getting tickets. Tickets are not available even through online medium. A large number of people have come here.”
Another fan Shiftain Iftar said that he has been coming here for two days for tickets, but did not get any response here. We were told yesterday (Friday) that tickets will start being available from 12 noon today, but after reaching here in the morning, it is already afternoon, but no information is available about the tickets.
Female fans were also seen waiting outside the stadium to buy tickets. Fan Kishori Dholpuriya, who came from Mumbai, alleged black marketing of tickets and said, we are not being given any information here. We are standing here in the sun and rain, but despite trying for three days, we are unable to find any trace of the ticket.
Local fan Aanchal said that we were told a day ago that the gates for tickets would be opened from 12 noon today, but even after a lot of time has passed, nothing is known. He said that if the tickets are sold out then they should be told that tickets are not available.
When an attempt was made to talk to the stadium managers to know the status of ticket availability, no clear answer was received from them either. Lavanya, a Class 9 student, also made a similar complaint and said that she wants to see the team win the trophy, but is unable to get tickets.
