Fauzia Khan said, “The ground reality that is being seen is that people are being elected in the elections without any opposition. They are being intimidated, they are being kidnapped. Money is being given, we have never seen so much money so openly in our life till date.”

The NCP (SP) Rajya Sabha MP further said, “Even after seeing all this, the government will not agree and the Election Commission will not take any cognizance of this, leave aside the voters’ list, but all these things should be visible to them. Be it police administration, revenue administration, booth level officers, we have seen everyone behaving differently.”

Referring to Maharashtra, he said, “Till date we have not seen what happened in the municipal elections of Maharashtra. Violence took place, people were stopped from filling the forms by intimidation, by showing guns. Women were tortured, this was not the culture of Maharashtra earlier. But now we are watching and the whole country is watching along with us. It is not that only the public is watching. If the government is still turning a blind eye then no one can do anything about it. Ours is The job is to put this matter forward in the Parliament and we are doing so.”
