Now the cold is slowly leaving and in a few weeks the heat will start showing its effect. Like every year, this time too as the temperature increases, the demand for air conditioners (AC) will increase rapidly and with it the prices will also go up, but if you buy AC now, i.e. in the off-season, then you can get the benefit of huge savings.

At present, many e-commerce websites, especially Flipkart, are offering great discounts on split and window ACs. Companies are offering good discounts to sell old models before bringing new stock. In such a situation, if you plan in advance, you can save thousands of rupees. So let us know whether this is the best time to buy an AC and where the best deals are available.

Is this the best time to buy AC?

Before the onset of summer, demand is low, so prices are also low. The AC whose price reaches Rs 40-45 thousand in May-June can now be bought for Rs 26-30 thousand. Facilities like bank offers, exchange offers and no-cost EMI are also available. No need to wait long for installation.

Where are you getting the best deals?

At present, many big brands are offering huge discounts on their 1.5 ton AC models. Voltas’ 1.5 Ton Window AC, which was earlier priced at Rs 42,990, is now available at Rs 27,399, i.e. a direct saving of Rs 15,500. Blue Star’s 1.5 Ton model is available at Rs 26,750, down from Rs 39,500. LG’s 5-star premium model is available for Rs 41,490, down from Rs 72,990, which is a discount of about 41 percent. Whereas some models of Whirlpool are available for Rs 27,409 and models of Carrier are available for Rs 28,399. Apart from this, attractive offers are also available on brands like Samsung, Daikin and Haier, due to which customers have many affordable options.

Which AC will be right for you?

If the size of your room is 120–180 square feet then a 1.5 ton AC will be suitable. Get a model with a 5-star rating. This will reduce electricity bills in the long run. If the budget is 25-30 thousand rupees then 3-star model can be a good option. If you live in a rented house or change houses frequently then window AC would be better. It is easy and cheap to install and remove.

Keep these things in mind before buying

1. Don’t decide just by looking at high discounts.

2. Understand the correct size and requirement of the room.

3. Check the electrical load of the house.

4. Be sure to get information about warranty and service network.

5. Also check whether the installation charge is different.
